In the '06 Making of Champions sale catalog, Julie Skinner of Snowmass Alpacas states that she traded two imported full Accoyo studs to obtain PERUVIAN DON JULIO, "...he was that good!". Listed as 'Cantexto' in import records, he recieved a 'superior' rating. Exported to Australia in 1997, there are a limited number of DON JULIO progeny in the US. Now deceased, DON JULIO'S impact will be felt for generations to come.
According to his current owners, Jude Anderson & Alan Cousill of Pucara Alpaca Stud in Australia, "Rodger and Clyde Haldane chose DON JULIO in Peru along with the famous US stud male PERUVIAN HEMINGWAY. DON JULIO was ear-marked by the Rural Allianza for the National show team. In fact, his sire was the 1993 National Supreme Champion of Peru."
